Azerbaijan has put into service nearly 20 new military infrastructure facilities for its Air Defence units as part of continued efforts to enhance the operational readiness of the armed forces, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The ministry's senior leadership inspected the newly commissioned facilities, which have been built in various regions of the country to support the service and combat activities of military personnel, according to the Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, the new facilities include dining halls, kitchens, medical stations, barracks, armouries, utility rooms, bath and sanitation facilities, boiler houses, water supply systems and backup generators to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply.

The buildings have also been equipped with utility and communication networks, including fire alarm systems, while modern equipment, furniture and other necessary inventory have been provided to meet operational requirements.

During the inspection, Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov instructed the Air Combat Command to ensure the continuous protection of Azerbaijan's airspace. He also stressed the importance of thoroughly studying the tactical and technical characteristics of newly introduced weapons and military equipment during training exercises and mastering their effective use in combat conditions.

The Defence Ministry said the construction of modern military infrastructure forms part of broader efforts to enhance the material and technical capabilities of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
