Azerbaijan Plans More Flights Between Baku and Prague

Chief Executive Officer of the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON Holding) Shahin Babayev has said that the number of flights between Baku and Prague is expected to rise by 14% in 2026, reaching 194.

Speaking at the Azerbaijan-Czech Business Forum, Babayev said air connectivity plays an important role in strengthening economic ties between the two countries, according to Report.

“Azerbaijan Airlines [AZAL] currently operates regular flights on the Baku-Prague route four times a week. In 2026, the total number of flights is expected to reach 194, which is 14% higher than in 2025. This growth supports business travel, tourism and closer people-to-people contacts,” Babayev said.

He also highlighted opportunities for cooperation in urban transport, including metro infrastructure, as well as the introduction of industrial solutions.

“Czech companies specializing in mechanical engineering, metalworking and equipment manufacturing can share valuable expertise with Azerbaijan’s modernization efforts,” he added.

The planned increase in flights and potential industrial cooperation could further strengthen business and tourism links between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic.
