Azerbaijan remains fully committed to the regional peace agenda, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said on Friday.
Hajiyev made the remarks at a panel session on “South Caucasus: A Strategic Hub in the Making” held as part of the 2026 Antalya Diplomacy Forum, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
“For many years, we used to participate in fora with a war and conflict agenda, but now we attend with a peace agenda. The war has ended, and Azerbaijan is fully committed to peace in the region. Through concrete steps and pragmatic cooperation with the Armenian side, Azerbaijan is advancing the peace process in practice, strengthening mutual trust between the two countries,” he stated.
Noting that trade relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan are starting to emerge, Hajiyev underscored that a new regional security architecture is being built to ensure long-term peace and security in the region.
“Looking ahead, we see an inclusive South Caucasus where cooperation between Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan is expanding,” he added.
