Azerbaijan, Slovakia Move Closer to Launching Direct Baku–Bratislava Flights

Azerbaijan and Slovakia are preparing to launch direct flights between Baku and Bratislava, a move expected to strengthen business ties, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Speaking at the Azerbaijan-Slovakia Business Forum, Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said both sides are looking forward to the start of direct air services between their capitals, The Caspian Post reports.

Jabbarov described the planned route as an important step for businesses, governments, and citizens, expressing appreciation to everyone in both countries who has contributed to making the project possible.

The minister also highlighted the strong potential for expanding trade, economic cooperation, and investment between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.

He noted that the two countries have already built successful partnerships in areas including energy and humanitarian demining in Azerbaijan's liberated territories. Jabbarov added that Slovak architects and construction companies are expected to participate in additional development projects in the region, following their involvement in ongoing reconstruction initiatives.

If launched, the Baku-Bratislava route would provide the first direct air connection between the capitals, making travel easier and supporting closer economic and diplomatic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
