Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova has arrived in Egypt on a working visit.
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, Gafarova was greeted by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov and other Egyptian officials, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
As part of her visit, Gafarova is expected to hold a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral parliamentary cooperation and political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Egypt.
Gafarova will also attend the official opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, one of the largest museum projects in the world.
The $1 billion Grand Egyptian Museum, whose construction has spanned several decades, is being inaugurated today with the participation of dozens of foreign leaders and dignitaries, marking a major milestone for Egypt’s cultural and tourism sectors.
