Georgia will import electricity from Azerbaijan directly, without intermediaries, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.
“It is very important that electricity imports from Azerbaijan will be carried out without intermediaries. After eliminating them, the state will save several million annually, which is very important,” Kobakhidze said, according to Sputnik Georgia.
According to Georgia’s National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, electricity imports from Azerbaijan totaled 164 million kWh in January-August 2026.
For comparison, Georgia imported 417 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan in 2025 and 186 million kWh in 2024.
