Hikmet Hajiyev: Azerbaijan Emerging as Hub for High-Level International Events

“Azerbaijan is a venue for hosting international high-level events, and our country successfully organizes a series of such events. Azerbaijan hosted one of the largest events within the UN framework - COP29. Following this, Azerbaijan’s hosting of WUF13 is an indicator of the trust placed in our country by both the international community and the United Nations,” said Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, in a statement to journalists, The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.

“Not all countries in the world are able to host an event of this scale under current conditions. In terms of the security situation, ongoing wars, as well as organizational capacity, the preparedness level of cities, and other parameters, not all cities and countries are ready for such events,” the Presidential Assistant added.

According to him, the trust of the international community, Azerbaijan’s readiness, and its successful hosting of numerous major events have made it possible to hold such a prestigious event as the World Urban Forum in Azerbaijan.
