A multi-car collision during the first feature race of the Formula 2 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku has brought the race to a temporary halt, with officials deploying the red flag.

The incident forced the suspension of the race as the damaged cars were dealt with on track.

Both PREMA Racing drivers - Sebastian Montoya and Mari Boya - have also retired from the race.

Montoya was involved in an incident on his way to the starting grid, while Boya’s car stopped on the track because of a technical issue.

His car was removed while the safety car was deployed.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will conclude on September 26.
