The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will become the global energy sponsor of Italy’s men’s and women’s national football teams starting in 2027.

SOCAR and the Italian Football Federation signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Baku during the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, according to SOCAR.

The partnership will run for four years, from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2030. The agreement also includes an option to extend the cooperation for two more years, potentially taking the partnership through 2032.

SOCAR said the agreement reflects its interest in establishing a long-term presence in Italy and contributing to the further development of Italian football, which is known for its strong traditions and achievements.

The partnership will bring together Azerbaijan’s leading energy company and one of Europe’s most prominent national football organizations as part of SOCAR’s broader international engagement.
