China-Central Asia Freight Train Traffic Soars 25% in Early 2025

Freight train activity between China and Central Asia experienced robust growth in the first half of 2025, with the number of train runs increasing by 25 per cent year-on-year.

Between January and June, a total of 7,349 freight train journeys were completed on the China-Central Asia route, including services integrated within the broader China-Europe freight network, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

During the same period, the total freight volume transported in all directions rose by 3 per cent, reaching 1.98 billion tons.
