Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Agriculture has reported that cotton fiber from the country’s southern regions is being exported to several international markets, including Türkiye, China, Russia, Latvia, Iran, and Pakistan.
A field day was held in the Ala-Too rural district of the Kara-Suu region at the Cotton Textile Factory enterprise, during which farmers got acquainted with the activities of the cotton cluster and discussed issues of yield and export of products, The Caspian Post reports citing Kabar.
According to the organizers, the cotton yield in the region in 2025 is projected at 3.5-4 tons per hectare.
The cost of 1 ton of cotton fiber is 1600-1700 US dollars.
The price of raw cotton is projected at 60-70 soms per kilogram.
After processing, cotton fiber is exported under contracts to Turkiye, China, Russia, Latvia, Iran and Pakistan.
The company representatives noted that the formation of the cluster ensures a higher level of processing and expands the export capabilities of local producers.
