China's Sinoma EC International has signed an agreement to build a 300 MW solar power plant in Uzbekistan's Navoi region, marking a key step in the country's renewable energy development. The project will also feature a 75 MW energy storage system and overhead power transmission lines, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.
The investment agreement was formalized on November 29, during a signing ceremony attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Sinoma Energy Conservation International Investment Co., Ltd.’s CEO.
The solar power plant and accompanying infrastructure will be built in the Karmana district of Navoi.
