Kyrgyzstan showcased its inaugural national pavilion at the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29), The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
The event is attended by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the President's Administration Muratbek Azymbakiyev, Minister of Natural Resources Meder Mashiev and others.
The pavilion was created within the framework of the global initiative "Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions for 2023-2027" and emphasizes the importance of the mountain agenda for Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry said.
The pavilion will become the central platform for promoting the interests and capabilities of the country, including its climate agenda, economic, energy and tourism potential.
The pavilion also has yurt for holding bilateral meetings and a mini-exhibition offering national products such as honey, dried fruits and chocolate.
More than 100 heads of state and government, as well as delegations from 150 countries, including Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, are expected to attend the COP29. The conference runs until November 22.
