Tajikistan Exports Energy Valued at Over $3.8 Million in October
The country exported electricity worth over $102.4 million abroad in 10 months of 2024. This is 3.2% ($3.4 million) less than in 2023.

Tajikistan exported electricity valued at over $3.8 million in October, according to the Agency for Statistics, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
The country exported electricity worth over $102.4 million abroad in 10 months of 2024. This is 3.2% ($3.4 million) less than in 2023.
The share of electricity supplies in the total number of exports was 6.6% in January-October.
Over 18.6 billion kW/h of electricity were generated in 10 months, which is 1.2% more than last year.
According to Barqi Tojik power company, electricity is supplied in small quantities only to Afghanistan in the autumn and winter. The agreement on supplies to Uzbekistan is valid only in the summer.
Meanwhile, residents of Tajik villages are already receiving electricity in limited quantities - for three hours in the morning and for five hours in the evening.
Rural residents of all regions of the country, except for Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), complain about the limited supply of electricity. The energy system of the GBAO operates in an independent mode from the central energy system of the country and is managed by the private company Pamir Energy.
Limited electricity supply in rural areas of the country began in the last ten days of September.
Electricity is cut off not only to household consumers, but also to retail outlets and small businesses, which causes great damage to the country's economy as a whole.
