Uzbekistan Set to Join Eurasian Development Bank in 2025

Uzbekistan plans to complete its procedure for joining the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) in early 2025, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

"To create reliable financial sources to advance joint projects, we plan to finalize the procedure and join the Eurasian Development Bank early next year," he said, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.

On December 6, EDB head Nikolai Podguzov said the bank’s board made all decisions necessary for Uzbekistan's accession.

EDB is an international financial organization engaged in investment activities in the Eurasian space. Its members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

On December 24, Mirziyoyev arrived in St. Petersburg on a working visit, and the next day he took part in an informal meeting of CIS leaders.
