A Russian court has fined Booking, the hotel reservation platform, a total of 6 million rubles ($74,600) over alleged “LGBT propaganda” linked to a message mentioning “Pride Month” that was sent to hotels.

The Tagansky District Court in Moscow imposed two separate fines of 3 million rubles on Booking - one for “LGBT propaganda” and another for failing to remove prohibited content, The Caspian Post reports, citing Russian media.

The case stemmed from a newsletter sent to the company’s foreign hotel partners that referred to accommodating LGBT guests during Pride events.

Russia’s media and communications regulator, Roskomnadzor, identified a photograph attached to the announcement in March and ordered it to be removed. Booking said the relevant page was taken down on March 11.
