Turkmenistan’s Delegation Visits Germany to Advance Green Development Partnership


A delegation from Turkmenistan, including officials from the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Education, and the State Energy Institute, recently undertook a visit to Germany as part of the German Society for International Cooperation’s (GIZ) project titled “EU for Green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024-2028.”

During their visit, the delegation engaged in several important meetings with academic and research institutions, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

At Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, they met with Rector Professor Claudia Becker to discuss opportunities for advancing higher education, scientific cooperation, and academic exchange. The visit also featured a specialized event focused on modern energy-saving technologies and renewable energy utilization.

The group continued their tour at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Köthen, where discussions centered on strengthening and expanding academic and scientific collaborations between universities in Turkmenistan and Germany.

The delegation concluded their visit at Clausthal University of Technology in Saxony with vice-rector for research and innovation. The meeting explored potential partnerships in fields including materials science, energy systems, environmental technologies, and digital transformation.

This trip represents a significant milestone in enhancing bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Germany. Productive discussions with representatives from scientific, educational, and diplomatic spheres have opened new pathways for cooperation in science, technology, education, and culture. The foundations laid during this visit are expected to foster the growth of future joint initiatives.

Previously, it was reported that the Turkmen delegation had also discussed collaboration in green energy with German academic institutions.
