China is set to resume exports of gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel starting in May.
The major state-owned oil companies have already submitted applications for export licenses. A representative of a state energy firm said Chinese authorities now consider domestic fuel demand to be stable enough to allow shipments abroad, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
The move is expected to focus mainly on aviation fuel supplies to Asian countries, where inventories are reportedly at critically low levels. In addition, China is also planning to export limited volumes of gasoline and diesel.
