The Border Police of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has detained the Panamanian-flagged tanker CAMINERO for violating navigation rules in the country's territorial waters.
According to the Border Police, legal proceedings were initiated against the vessel’s captain, a citizen of Türkiye, for breaching navigation regulations, The Caspian Post reports, citing Georgian media.
The case was opened under Subparagraph “e” of Part 1 of Article 114 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Georgia.
As part of the proceedings, the captain was fined GEL 15,000, payable to the state budget. After the fine was paid, the tanker was permitted to continue its voyage, the Border Police said in a statement.
