The U.S. European Command (EUCOM) has confirmed the seizure of the Russian oil tanker Marinera in the Atlantic.
In a statement on X, EUCOM said: “The @TheJusticeDept & @DHSgov, in coordination with the @DeptofWar today announced the seizure of the M/V Bella 1 for violations of U.S. sanctions. The vessel was seized in the North Atlantic pursuant to a warrant issued by a U.S. federal court after being tracked by USCGC Munro,” The Caspian Post reports.

Earlier, Reuters informed, citing sources, that the U.S. Coast Guard was conducting an operation to seize the tanker off the coast of Latin America.
On January 4, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Fox News that the United States would continue targeting oil tankers carrying Venezuelan oil and vessels allegedly involved in drug smuggling.
