Georgia Offers Half-Price Electronic ID Cards Until September 5

The Ministry of Justice's Public Service Development Agency has launched a temporary discount campaign for issuing electronic ID cards. The campaign, which applies to certain categories of citizens, will run until September 5.

Under the initiative, eligible applicants will receive their electronic ID card at half price on the 10th working day after application while the required photo will be provided free of charge, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

As the agency stated, the campaign aims to increase citizens’ access to electronic documents and improve the accuracy of voter lists before the upcoming elections.

Discounted electronic ID cards will be available to:

  • Adult citizens who have never obtained an electronic ID card.
  • Adults whose electronic ID card has expired or will expire before 5 October 2025 and who do not hold a valid biometric passport.
  • Citizens turning 18 before 5 October 2025 who either do not have an electronic ID card or whose current card will expire before that date and who do not hold a valid biometric passport.
