Georgian PM Reaffirms Commitment to European Integration Amid Challenges

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday reaffirmed the Government’s dedication to its European integration objectives “despite difficulties in relations” with the bloc, the Government Administration said.

"Despite the difficulties in relations, we will continue to cooperate with the European Union. Another manifestation of this commitment is our fulfilment of all obligations, including the submission of [the 2025-2027 Economic Reform Programme] to the European Commission [on Thursday]," Kobakhidze said, The Caspian Post reports, citing Georgian media.

"This is a plan for economic reforms that spans three years [...] It addresses macroeconomic and fiscal issues. We have clearly presented our vision to the Commission. Naturally, we remain committed to the obligations pertaining to Georgia’s European integration," he added.

The Ministry of Finance on Thursday said the document drew heavily on medium-term planning objectives articulated in Georgia's Basic Data and Directions Document. Structural reforms referenced in the programme are aligned with the country’s overarching Vision 2030 development strategy paper, the body added.
