Iran has developed new weapons, military equipment and technical and tactical capabilities for potential future conflicts, Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics spokesperson Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik said.

Talaei-Nik said some of the new capabilities would be revealed on the battlefield in future wars, The Caspian Post reports, citing Mehr.

He said the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian had faced highly sensitive conditions over the past two years, including two wars, security threats and rapid regional developments.

According to Talaei-Nik, despite the geographic scale of attacks and the enemy’s heavy firepower, the government supported the Army, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Central Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters in meeting the needs of the Armed Forces and preventing the enemy from achieving its objectives.

He said the recent wars, despite their losses, had also created opportunities for political, social, scientific, industrial and defense-related advances.

Talaei-Nik said Iran’s defense industry had built strategic stocks of weapons, equipment and ammunition before the war, while production continued during the conflict through a network of around 9,300 knowledge-based and private companies. He said these firms support about two-thirds of the defense industry and that production of some equipment increased several-fold.

Iran’s arms production has more than doubled since the 12-day war, Talaei-Nik said, adding that production of some products is expected to increase several times further.

The spokesman said Iran produces more than 1,000 types of weapons, equipment and ammunition, with defense self-sufficiency exceeding 90 percent. He added that the country’s defense industry had moved beyond reverse engineering and developed indigenous technologies and designs in some fields.
