Iranian armed forces reported two maritime incidents involving vessels that tried to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without authorization.
One vessel, the cargo ship Express Room, sailing under Liberia's flag and described by Iranian media as Israeli-linked, was reportedly fired upon after ignoring warnings from the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and stopping in the area, The Caspian Post reports via Iranian media.
Another container ship, Mayuree Naree, was also targeted after it ignored warnings from IRGC naval units and attempted to transit the strategic waterway.
Iranian military officials said the Strait of Hormuz is under IRGC control, adding that US and allied vessels are not permitted to pass through the passage without prior coordination.
