Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, has announced that a barter trade mechanism between Tehran and Islamabad will be implemented soon, alongside efforts to expedite the Pakistan-Iran Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
In a statement on Monday, Ambassador Tipu highlighted encouraging developments regarding the trade potential between the two neighboring countries, which were discussed during recent bilateral meetings, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iranian media.
He confirmed that both Pakistan and Iran are fast-tracking the execution of the FTA, with the barter trade system expected to become operational in the near future.
Furthermore, the Pakistani ambassador said that a 12-member Iranian delegation will travel to Pakistan to participate in the International Agribusiness and Food Industry Exhibition, scheduled to be held in Karachi starting November 25, 2025.
He also noted that the commercial and investment attaché from the Pakistani Embassy will accompany the Iranian representatives during their visit.
