Iran’s strategically important Khark Island, a major hub for the country’s oil exports, has continued operating despite military hostilities in the region.

Khark Island was bombed several times, but colleagues in the oil industry and operational forces did not allow oil production to stop for a single minute,” the official said, Interfax reports.

The official said work is currently underway to repair and modernize oil storage tanks on the island, while reconstruction of berths is also in progress.

Previously launched projects are continuing as well, with authorities saying none have been suspended. Some projects have already reached 20-30% completion, the official noted.

Khark Island is a critical part of Iran’s oil export infrastructure and is home to major facilities used to handle crude shipments.

The developments come after US President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video on Truth Social depicting industrial facilities on Khark Island being subjected to a destructive missile strike.

Iranian officials have continued to emphasize the resilience of the country’s oil infrastructure despite the conflict and reported attacks on strategic facilities.
