Iran’s army is preparing to unveil a new unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), with its name and technical specifications still being kept secret, the country’s military chief has announced.
Army Commander-in-Chief, Major General Amir Hatami made the announcement during a report broadcast on Iranian state television from an underground drone production facility, TASS reports.
“Our advantage in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles has reached an unprecedented level. A clear example is this drone, whose name and tactical and technical specifications will be officially presented in the near future,” Hatami said.
He added that Iran’s armed forces now have a broader arsenal of effective drones, with more diverse capabilities than before the 40-day war.
“This is a direct result of the dynamic development of this industry and the expansion of its facilities across the country,” the army chief said.
Iran has increasingly emphasized the development of domestic drone production, with officials highlighting the expansion of manufacturing facilities and the diversification of military UAV capabilities.
