Iran did not discuss the possibility of transferring enriched uranium to third countries during recent negotiations with the United States in Oman. This was stated by the Vice President of the Islamic Republic and head of the country's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami.

"The export of uranium from the country was not on the agenda, and if it was, it was proposed by other countries to help the negotiation process," the politician clarified, The Caspian Post reports, citing Tasnim.

On February 6, negotiations between Iran and the United States over Iran's nuclear program took place in the capital of Oman. This meeting marked the first after a long pause due to the escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict in June 2025. By that time, Iran and the United States had held five rounds of consultations.

According to the Wall Street Journal, during the negotiations with U.S. representatives in Oman, Iranian authorities made it clear that Tehran has no intention of abandoning uranium enrichment or transferring it to another country.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that for a durable agreement between Iran and the U.S. to be reached, equal positions and mutual respect are necessary. He emphasized that Tehran approaches diplomacy with open eyes, keeping a firm memory of the events of 2025.

Previously, Iran had rejected halting uranium enrichment.
