Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed Tehran for New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

Pezeshkian said before his departure that he plans to defend Iran’s positions, highlight what he described as the suffering of the Iranian people and actions by the country’s adversaries, and address what he called declining trust in negotiations, according to Iran International.

“We will make the best possible use of this opportunity to convey Iran’s message to the international community that we are the victim,” Pezeshkian said.

Pezeshkian is expected to use his participation in the UN General Assembly to present Tehran’s position on international and regional issues.
