A security force member was killed by a roadside explosive device in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces’ Quds Force.
The Quds Force said in a statement that militant groups operating in the region, having suffered losses, had resorted to acts of sabotage in an attempt to compensate for their recent defeats, The Caspian Post reports.
According to the IRGC, terrorists planted an explosive device along a transport route in the province, resulting in the death of the serviceman.
The IRGC emphasized that such attacks would not affect efforts to ensure public safety, adding that operations to identify and pursue terrorist groups would continue.
