Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has called Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to express concern about regional tensions and stressed Azerbaijan’s commitment to resolving issues through dialogue and mutual understanding.
The leaders highlighted historic, ethnic, and religious ties that form the foundation of Azerbaijan-Iran relations, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The conversation praised past presidential visits and fruitful meetings, emphasizing their role in deepening bilateral cooperation. Both leaders noted progress on the Aghband-Kelaleh road bridge over the Araz River, which is on schedule.
Pezeshkian thanked Aliyev for his efforts, and the two sides agreed to continue regular contacts to strengthen friendship and future cooperation.
