At least one person was killed and several others were injured after a US strike targeted the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz.

Majid Farshi, director general of Crisis Management for Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, said the attack took place in the early hours of the day and struck a military area in the southwestern part of the city, The Caspian Post reports via Al Jazeera.

Farshi said rescue teams, security forces, and law enforcement personnel were deployed immediately after the strike to assist victims, secure the area, and assess the damage.

He added that emergency authorities were working to manage the aftermath of the attack, provide aid to those affected, and investigate the full extent of the incident.
