A Climber With an Injured Leg Was Rescued in the Almaty Mountains

On the morning of January 25, 2026, a climber was rescued in the mountains of Almaty, The Caspian Post informs.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the man was rescued at Mynzhylky Peak (altitude 3,630 meters).

A mountaineering instructor contacted the USP-23 universal rescue unit, reporting that one of the group members, a 59-year-old man, had injured his leg and was unable to move independently.

"A rescue team and an ambulance from the Center for Disaster Medicine, stationed at USP-23, were immediately dispatched to provide assistance. Rescuers quickly reached the victim near Mynzhylky Peak and then transported him to the USP-23 unit. There, the man received first aid in the ambulance and was then transferred to an ambulance crew," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to rescuers, the victim's life and health are not in danger.
