Kazakh Ambassador Presents Credentials to NATO Secretary General

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the European Union, and NATO, Roman Vassilenko, has officially presented his credentials to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Following the ceremony, Vassilenko and Rutte discussed the current state of Kazakhstan-NATO cooperation and broader international issues, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

The Kazakh ambassador highlighted that a key focus of the partnership is preparing Kazakhstan’s Armed Forces’ peacekeeping units for deployment in UN-led missions.

Both sides agreed to continue developing cooperation to strengthen the peacekeeping capabilities of Kazakhstan’s military.

Earlier this month, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev directed initiatives to enhance the combat readiness and overall capabilities of Kazakhstan’s Armed Forces, reflecting the country’s commitment to modernizing its defense sector.
