Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan, on his birthday during a telephone conversation that also focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Tokayev wished the National Leader of the Turkmen people continued success in his public service for the prosperity of Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

The Kazakh president also praised Berdimuhamedov's contribution to deepening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, emphasizing that the close relationship between the two countries is built on centuries of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual respect.

During the call, the two sides reviewed key issues on the bilateral agenda and discussed prospects for expanding cooperation across areas of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening ties between the neighboring Central Asian states.
