Kazakhstan is exploring the possibility of importing aviation fuel from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan as it seeks to diversify supply sources and meet growing demand.
Speaking on the sidelines of parliament, Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said the country is already importing jet fuel from China through private traders, while additional supply options are being evaluated, The Caspian Post reports via Kommersant.
“I know that some of our traders are already bringing aviation fuel from China. The possibility of importing jet fuel from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan is also being considered, and discussions are underway with several countries farther abroad,” Akkenzhenov said.
In addition to exploring imports from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan is holding talks with several international partners to secure alternative sources of aviation fuel and enhance market stability.
