Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan Deepen Economic Ties with New Trade and Investment Agreements

Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan have agreed to expand economic cooperation across a wide range of sectors following a meeting of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation.

The talks, co-chaired by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government Galymzhan Koishybayev and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev, focused on strengthening bilateral ties in trade, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy, education, and culture, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Koishybayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to enhancing comprehensive cooperation with Turkmenistan, while both sides reviewed current projects and explored new opportunities for partnership. The meeting concluded with the signing of a final protocol outlining future cooperation plans.

A Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan Business Forum held alongside the commission meeting attracted around 140 companies from both countries, including nearly 100 Kazakh and 40 Turkmen firms.

Several key agreements were signed during the forum, including a memorandum of cooperation between QazTrade and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, new e-commerce partnerships, and an investment and construction cooperation agreement.
