Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, H.E. Maulen Ashimbayev, has welcomed Ambassador Ramil Hasan, Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), during his official visit, emphasizing that TURKPA is the key to uniting Turkic nations.
During the meeting, Ashimbayev congratulated Hasan on his reappointment as TURKPA Secretary-General and wished him success in his new term, The Caspian Post informs via TURKPA.
Hasan expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and praised the Kazakh Senate’s strong commitment to fostering interparliamentary cooperation across the Turkic world.
Moreover, Hasan highlighted the success of the recent TURKPA Plenary Session held in Astana in June, noting the adoption of several model laws and the approval of the Astana Declaration at the 14th Plenary Session.
In turn, Ashimbayev expressed confidence that TURKPA is entering a vibrant new phase of cooperation, emphasizing its crucial role within the Turkic integration framework. He pointed out that TURKPA serves as a key platform for interparliamentary dialogue and legislative coordination among member states and stressed ongoing efforts to harmonize legislation as an essential step toward deeper Turkic unity.
The leaders also discussed the outcomes of the latest Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Gabala, focusing on the Gabala Declaration’s priorities-advancing economic integration, bolstering mutual support on international issues, enhancing regional security, and promoting cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Reaffirming Kazakhstan’s role as the current Chair of TURKPA, Ashimbayev pledged full support for the organization’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the shared interests and prosperity of the Turkic states and peoples.
