Kazakh President Tokayev Congratulates Nation on Beginning of Ramadan

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the nation on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, highlighting the lasting values of the people.

The President said lasting values such as tolerance, modesty, compassion, and charity come to the fore during Ramadan. People help those in need, and practice charity during the month of fasting. All this proceeds from humanist ideas of Islam, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazinform.

He noted that for people of Kazakhstan, religion and traditions are inextricably interwoven concepts that complement each other, calling for goodness and creativity.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed it is very symbolic that this year the beginning of the month of Ramadan coincided with Gratitude Day in Kazakhstan. Deep in content and consonant in meaning, these holidays help strengthen the unity of our people.
