Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has dismissed any speculation regarding early presidential elections, stressing that he has long-term plans for the nation's development.
In an interview with Ana Tili (Native Language) newspaper, Tokayev reflected on his extensive experience, including nearly three years heading the Geneva office of the United Nations and serving as UN Under Secretary and Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament, The Caspian Post reports.
"I believe this is more than enough. I have big plans for the country's development for many years to come and I intend to fulfil all of them," he said.
Addressing the topic of early parliamentary elections, Tokayev emphasized that there were no current conditions warranting such a move. "There are no prerequisites for early parliamentary elections," he stated, adding that elections would be held in accordance with the timelines stipulated by the country's legislation.
"The government works in accordance with approved programs and plans, and it is gradually moving towards achieving positive results," Tokayev concluded.
