Kazakhstan and Algeria have celebrated the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations with large-scale cultural events in Algiers and Oran, highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations.
The centerpiece of the celebrations was a powerful joint concert featuring Kazakhstan’s acclaimed ensemble Forte Trio alongside the National Symphony Orchestra of Algeria, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The performances brought together diplomats, government officials, cultural figures, business leaders, and media representatives, turning the anniversary into a vibrant showcase of cultural diplomacy.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Algeria, Anuarbek Akhmetov, highlighted impressive progress in bilateral ties over the past three decades. He emphasized deepening trust, expanding cooperation, and the strong political will on both sides to strengthen relations further. The opening of embassies in both capitals was noted as a key milestone, boosting political dialogue and engagement.
Algerian officials echoed this optimism. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Sofiane Chaib reaffirmed the steady development of relations and emphasized readiness to expand cooperation in priority sectors. Meanwhile, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Algeria, Nacera Ayaichia pointed to cultural exchange as a powerful driver of mutual understanding, while Director of both operas of Algiers and Oran, Mourad Senouci described music and art as a “bridge of friendship” connecting peoples.
Beyond the concerts, visitors were drawn to a rich cultural exhibition hosted at the Algiers Opera House. The display featured Kazakh paintings, traditional costumes, handicrafts, and photography, alongside video presentations showcasing modern life and achievements in Kazakhstan. The exhibition will remain open for a month, offering Algerian audiences a deeper look into Kazakh culture.
The celebrations, widely covered by leading Algerian media and bloggers, generated strong public interest and underscored the growing appeal of Kazakhstan’s cultural outreach.
With performances at iconic venues such as the Algiers Opera House and the historic Oran Opera Theatre, the anniversary events not only honored three decades of diplomatic ties but also highlighted the expanding potential of Kazakhstan-Algeria cooperation across culture, politics, and beyond.
