Kazakh citizens now enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 80 destinations worldwide, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The ranking places Kazakhstan ahead of its regional neighbors, with Kyrgyzstan positioned at 81st and Uzbekistan at 82nd, reflecting steady progress in the country’s global mobility.

Global Mobility Leaders: Singapore, South Korea, Japan

At the top of the 2025 index:

Singapore retains the number one spot with visa-free access to 193 countries.

South Korea follows in second place, with 190 destinations accessible without a visa.

Japan, once the index leader, ranks third with 189 visa-free destinations.

These countries continue to offer their citizens the broadest travel freedom globally.

US and Russia See Declines in Passport Power

In a notable shift, the US has fallen out of the top 10 for the first time in the index’s 20-year history, now sharing 12th place with Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Russia experienced a drop from 46th to 50th place, now ranking behind countries such as Venezuela and Moldova.

Kazakhstan’s Passport Reforms and Travel Ambitions

Kazakhstan’s improved ranking comes amid ongoing efforts to modernize its travel documentation. Authorities recently announced a new passport design, featuring updated security features and a more streamlined user experience, aimed at enhancing both national security and international accessibility.
