Kyrgyzstan, Japan Seal Deal to End Double Taxation and Fight Tax Evasion

Kyrgyzstan and Japan have successfully wrapped up negotiations on a landmark bilateral agreement aimed at eliminating double taxation and curbing tax evasion.

During talks held in Bishkek, delegations from both countries reviewed and finalized the draft text of the agreement. The signing ceremony will take place once each nation completes its respective internal approval processes, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The agreement seeks to eliminate the burden of double taxation on income earned by both individuals and corporations operating between the two countries. Key objectives include protecting taxpayers from discriminatory taxation, enhancing cooperation between tax authorities, and preventing tax evasion through improved transparency and information exchange.

Officials from both sides believe the treaty will create a more attractive environment for cross-border investment and trade, providing legal certainty and tax stability to businesses and residents engaged in economic activities between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
