$300M Investment Wave: Kyrgyzstan and China Seal New Deals

Kyrgyzstan and China have signed agreements, memorandums and commercial contracts worth more than $300 million following the Kyrgyz-Chinese Investment Forum.

More than 150 Chinese companies took part in the forum, with agreements covering tourism and medical tourism, infrastructure, electricity and thermal power, oil and gas, urban water management, and the agro-industrial sector, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kabar.

The signed documents include a public-private partnership agreement for the Baitik Mountain Resort project; memorandums on cooperation in electricity and thermal power, oil and gas, and urban water management; and an investment management contract involving State Customs Infrastructure OJSC.

The parties also signed memorandums for the construction of the Shanghai Cloud Kingdom Complex and Pearl Coast Village in the City of Asman.

Other agreements cover the development of a proton and radiation cancer therapy center, cooperation between the Kyrgyz Post Office and a Chinese trading company, and partnerships in ropeway engineering, construction and higher education.

The forum was held at the Ala-Archa State Residence ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan in connection with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
