At the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR-2025), Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Kuantyrov has held a series of bilateral meetings aimed at deepening trade, economic, and investment cooperation with international partners.

Kuantyrov met with Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Hawi, Deputy Minister of Investment of the United Arab Emirates, to discuss expanding trade and investment collaboration, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The sides explored new joint infrastructure and industrial projects, cooperation under the Kazakhstan-UAE Strategic Investment Platform, and the exchange of best PPP (public-private partnership) practices.

In another meeting, Kuantyrov held talks with Tamer Shafik, Vice President for Business Development at Orascom Construction PLC (Egypt). The discussions focused on Orascom’s potential participation in Kazakhstan’s energy and infrastructure projects, including hydropower plants, gas-fired power stations, and water supply facilities.

Both sides expressed readiness to develop a long-term strategic partnership, exchange engineering and technology expertise, and advance projects in energy, water, and transport infrastructure.

The Investment Committee of the Foreign Ministry and Kazakh Invest will continue coordinating with investors to ensure the successful implementation of agreements made during KGIR-2025.

Orascom Construction PLC ranks among the largest contractors in the Middle East and North Africa, with over 200 active projects in 20+ countries.
