The Kazakh government is expected to convene on November 4, to review the results of the 2025 harvest campaign and discuss new measures to enhance sports infrastructure and mass participation in sports.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. (GMT+5), The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
According to the Agriculture Ministry, as of October 28, Kazakhstan harvested 15.9 million hectares - or 99.2 per cent of its grain and legume area. The campaign brought in 26.9 million tons of grain, 3.7 million tons of oilseeds, 2.9 million tons of potatoes, and 3.8 million tons of vegetables. Officials noted that this year’s harvest was completed efficiently and within optimal agrotechnical timelines.
Additionally, 37.8 million tons of fodder were prepared by October 25, while farmers benefited from 422,000 tons of subsidized diesel fuel priced at 254 tenge per liter - about 20 per cent below the market rate.
The session will also focus on expanding mass sports engagement and improving sports infrastructure. According to the Tourism and Sports Ministry, 8.4 million people - roughly 41.4 per cent of Kazakhstan’s population - regularly participate in physical activity. The 2023-2029 Physical Culture and Sports Development Concept aims to raise this figure to 50 per cent by 2029.
Among the country’s most popular sports are football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, skiing, hockey, chess, and national sports.
Earlier, the government allocated 1.4 billion tenge from its reserves for dam reconstruction in Teplichnoye village, Kyzylzhar district, North Kazakhstan.
