Kazakhstan Names New Presidential Press Secretary

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Ruslan Zheldibay as Assistant to the President - Press Secretary of the President of Kazakhstan.

Zheldibay began his career in 2012 at Kazakhstan TV channel as an editor, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Between 2012 and 2018, he worked as a producer for Almaty TV channel and later joined the Information and Communications Committee of the Ministry of Information and Social Development.

From 2019 to 2020, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Information and Communications Committee, before being appointed Deputy Chief of the Domestic Policy Sector at the President’s Executive Office in 2020.

In February 2022, Zheldibay became Deputy Chief of the Kazakh Prime Minister’s Office, and in April 2022, he was named Press Secretary of the President of Kazakhstan. In 2023, he assumed the role of Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and Communication.
