Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Lisbon, Jean Galiev, met with José Cezário, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Portuguese Communities Abroad Committee of the Assembly of the Republic.
During the meeting, Ambassador Galiev briefed Cezário on Kazakhstan’s modernization reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
The two sides discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation, including agriculture and agro-industry, tourism and sports, transport and logistics, digital technologies and artificial intelligence, water resources, and education.
The Ambassador reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to strengthen interparliamentary dialogue. In turn, Cezário expressed interest in Kazakhstan’s reforms and supported efforts to bring the peoples of the two countries closer through cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The parties agreed to promote mutually beneficial cooperation relying on parliamentary diplomacy. Cezário also expressed his intention to visit Kazakhstan soon, leading a delegation of Portuguese lawmakers.
