Kazakhstan Showcases Investment Potential to US Business Leaders in Washington

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin has presented Kazakhstan’s strong economic and investment prospects to US business leaders at a roundtable organized by the US-Kazakhstan Business Council (USKZBC) under the US Chamber of Commerce.

The event was held on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund and brought together a high-profile American delegation led by Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Central Asia at the US Chamber of Commerce, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

Representatives from major global companies such as Chevron, Bechtel, ExxonMobil, Citi, Mastercard, Boeing, and LanzaJet attended.

During the meeting, Zhumangarin emphasized the deepening economic partnership between Kazakhstan and the US. He noted that over 600 US companies currently operate in Kazakhstan, including industry leaders like Chevron, General Electric, Pfizer, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Honeywell, and John Deere.

Highlighting Kazakhstan’s economic outlook, Zhumangarin projected the country’s GDP to exceed $330 billion by 2025, accounting for 60 per cent of Central Asia’s economy. Kazakhstan’s GDP per capita surpassed $14,000 in 2024, with a target to raise GDP to $450 billion by 2029.

Zhumangarin also announced that Kazakhstan has attracted more than $400 billion in foreign direct investment over the past 20 years, with the economy maintaining growth rates above 5 per cent annually for three consecutive years.

The deputy prime minister outlined Kazakhstan’s new proactive economic growth strategy, targeting annual GDP growth of 5-6 per cent, supported by robust financial institutions designed to facilitate large-scale funding for high-impact export projects.
