Kazakhstan has signed a new cooperation memorandum with Huawei aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of the country’s transport sector, during the global tech event Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The Kazakh delegation, led by Vice Minister of Transport Zhanibek Taizhanov, took part in the international technology exhibition, where Huawei showcased advanced solutions for modernizing telecommunications infrastructure, developing 5G networks, and preparing for future 6G technologies, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

During the meeting, Huawei representatives introduced innovative digital systems including AI-centric networks, predictive infrastructure maintenance tools, and smart platforms for managing transport flows and logistics operations.

Kazakh officials also explored technologies designed for smart logistics development, autonomous systems, and digital infrastructure management, which could play a key role in modernizing the country’s transport network.

Special attention was given to the potential implementation of these solutions in Kazakhstan, particularly in developing intelligent transport systems, digitizing logistics corridors, and strengthening infrastructure resilience.

As part of the exhibition, the Ministry of Transport signed a memorandum of cooperation with Huawei to exchange expertise and introduce advanced digital solutions across the transport sector. The agreement includes plans to develop a unified intelligent system supported by cloud technologies.

The memorandum covers several key transport areas, including railway, road, maritime, and freight transport.

Both sides agreed to share best practices in efficient road infrastructure management, coordination of transport flows, and improving the productivity of logistics hubs.
